5x5: T206 Harry Pattee, SGC 3 - Piedmont Back (Brooklyn Superbas)

$310.89

Unarguably on the Mount Rushmore of sports card sets, this card is part of the T206. It is unique, not so much for the player pictured, but for its horizontal orientation and pastel colors. Graded in March 2023, this copy of this card displays evenly-worn corners and a little bit of compression at the top, giving it its technical grade. But its centering and still-rich coloring will have it popping off the page or the wall of a T206 set or Dodgers team collection. A strong addition for an advanced pre-war collector!

Harry Pattee himself had an unremarkable major league baseball career. His only stint was with the 1908 Brooklyn Superbas (the franchise later to become the Dodgers).Pattee played second base and had 302 plate appearances, mostly frontloaded in the season. He batted .216 with 19 runs, nine RBIs, and seven extra-base hits (none home runs). The Superbas went 53-101, good for seventh of eight National League teams, and Pattee spent the remainder of his career in the minor leagues.
