Richie Petitbon played 14 seasons, 10 of which, and the best of which, were with the Chicago Bears between 1959 to 1968. He was best known for his penchant for interceptions. In 1962 he returned an interception for 101 yards and a touchdown, and in 1963 his ninth interception of the season sealed a 14-10 win over the New York Giants and the Bears’ eighth championship, their last before the Super Bowl era. Petitbon had 48 interceptions in his career, and his 37 for the Bears remains second in franchise history to Gary Fencik’s 38.
The 1967 Philadelphia set was produced by Philadelphia Gum, consisting of 198 cards. Each team’s players were bookended by a team card and an insignia card.
